Position: Technical Assistant (IT)

Number of the Post: 1 (One) contractual

Job Summary

Provide first-level IT support to faculty, students, researchers, and staff by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and application issues. Assist in managing IT infrastructure, user accounts, Microsoft 365 services, and IT assets while ensuring system availability, security, and smooth academic and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and application-related issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, email services, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day IT incidents and service requests
• Monitor IT infrastructure, systems, and network connectivity to ensure uninterrupted services.
• Escalate complex issues to higher support levels and coordinate resolution.
• Maintain IT asset inventory,



documentation, and support records.
• Assist in implementing cybersecurity policies, endpoint protection, and user awareness practices.
• Support classroom, laboratory, academic, research, and administrative IT requirements.
• Perform routine system checks, updates, backups, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Provide end-user training and guidance on IT services and applications.
• Ensure reliable, secure, and effective IT operations across the institution.

Required Skills

• Windows/ basic Linux administration
• Microsoft 365 administration (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
• Active Directory and user account management
• Hardware and software troubleshooting
• LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP fundamentals
• Printer, scanner, and peripheral device support
• Basic server administration and monitoring
• IT asset management and documentation
• Endpoint security and antiviru
