Summary The Lead Mechanical Engineer in the Compressor Rotors team will participate in activities contributing to the design and development of products solutions and systems related to New products in Compressor supporting Rotor components Includes activities linked to technical improvement of recent and existing product components and impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team In this role the Lead engineer is expected to be engaged in New design and product development Product cost out and design robustness improvement programs This role involves mechanical design and component ownership of Compressor Rotors components Project scope includes NPIs services programs Product Cost-Out supply chain activities for new designs Design analyze and evaluate assigned projects by applying sound engineering principles while maintaining compliance with business standards procedures and product program requirements Drive engineering deliverables by establishing project schedules for design reviews and analysis Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing materials and drafting to issue compressor hardware product definitions Integrate Lean principles and continuous improvement practices Create standardized workflows and identify innovative approaches to enhance processes and design methodologies Build engagement with Fleet and DLE teams Keep abreast of ongoing field and manufacturing issues Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy strategy Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions Provides informal guidance to new team members Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations Support involvement in broad company-wide initiatives in support of GE Gas Power business objectives i e P2V Lean and Pro
