Accounts Manager - Job Description

Position Summary

The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, banking transactions, statutory compliance, receivables, payables, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. The role requires close coordination with management, auditors, banks, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in accounting software (such as Tally).
- Record all sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, and bank transactions.
- Perform daily accounting and ledger reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly profit & loss statements and balance sheets.

2. Banking Operations
- Manage OD (Overdraft) accounts and working capital transactions.
- Process NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, and cheque payments.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements.
- Coordinate with banks regarding renewals, limits, documentation, and loan compliance.
- Maintain banking records and finance-related documents.

GST & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and verify GST data.
- Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant for filing GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Return, and other statutory returns.
- Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase registers.
- Resolve GST mismatches and maintain compliance records.
- Assist during GST audits and departmental notices.

4. Accounts Receivable
- Generate tax invoices and e-invoices where applicable.
- Track customer outstanding balances.
- Follow up with customers for timely collections.
- Prepare ageing reports and collection status reports.
- Maintain customer account statements.

5. Accounts Payable
- Verify supplier invoices.
- Schedule supplier payments.
- Maintain vendor ledgers.
- Reconcile supplier accounts regularly.
- Ensure timely payments while maintaining healthy cash flow.

6. Inventory & Cost Control
- Record purchase and consumption of roofing materials.
- Reconcile stock
