Preparing detailed quantity take-off for all trades including Architecture, Structural and Civil works, from contract drawings and specifications;
- Preparing quantities for cost plans at order-of-magnitude, conceptual, feasibility and pre-development stages, including value engineering and major variations;
- Preparing quantity take-off for buildings and structures, utilities and plant rooms etc. and operating system elements related to current construction, repair and renovation projects;
- Performing detailed review of contract specifications and drawings to identify errors, discrepancies and/or ambiguities;
- Assisting in value engineering assignments;
Preparing a quantity variance report at various stages of cost planning, including bid analysis and cost reduction strategies;
- Maintaining files and records of work performed by the department;
Other duties as assigned/required.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or Structural/ Civil Engineering or in a related field; Master’s Degree is desirable.
- Registration and professional certification in associated organizations or institutions such as RICS or CIOB is mandatory.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm and/or general contracting organization;
Knowledge of the Capital Budget process and the budgeting methodology dealing with cash flow and escalation indices;
Should be proficient in the use of CostX/ Estimator or equivalent software, and BIM to develop control quantities
- Should have experience of handling team of min. 4-6 resources
- Must possess strong analytical and social skills combined with sound judgement and initiative;
International Experience of working on Measurement Standards like CSMM7/SMM7/POMI etc. Experience of working on Canada Measurement Standards is desirable
