Job Summary

An Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery. They ensure that electrical installations operate safely and efficiently in factories, commercial buildings, power plants, and residential projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation Work
- Install electrical wiring, cables, switches, sockets, and lighting systems.
- Assemble and install electrical panels and control systems.
- Connect motors, generators, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
- Follow electrical drawings, blueprints, and circuit diagrams during installation.

Maintenance Work
- Perform routine inspection of electrical equipment.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns.
- Clean, adjust, and replace worn-out electrical components.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities.

Troubleshooting and Repair




- Identify electrical faults in machines and systems.
- Use testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
- Repair defective motors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Restore equipment to normal operating condition.

Safety Responsibilities
- Follow electrical safety procedures and company regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and safety shoes.
- Ensure proper grounding and earthing of equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions and hazards.

Required Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Understanding of AC/DC motors and electrical panels.
