Overview: The UI/UX Intern plays a crucial role in assisting the design team with creating intuitive and visually appealing digital experiences. This role is instrumental in understanding user needs and translating them into engaging designs that enhance overall user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
- Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Contribute to establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot UI/UX problems.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in UI/UX design and technologies.
- Present and defend design decisions based on user needs and design principles.
- Work with the development team to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Design, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
- Robust portfolio of UI/UX design projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools such as InVision, Axure, or similar.
- Ability to conduct user research and translate insights into design improvements.
- Good understanding of usability principles and standards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
