The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing real estate construction projects. The role involves monitoring project progress, managing site teams, coordinating with consultants and contractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance, controlling project costs, and delivering projects within approved timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing construction projects from commencement to completion.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely achievement of milestones.
- Coordinate daily construction activities across multiple work fronts.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and BOQ.
Site Coordination
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Architects, Structural Consultants, MEP Consultants, and Contractors.
- Resolve day-to-day technical and execution-related issues.
- Monitor labour deployment and contractor performance.
- Conduct regular site visits to review progress and quality.
Project Monitoring
- Track project progress against planned schedules.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Highlight delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the Project Manager in project review meetings.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all construction activities comply with company quality standards and applicable codes.
- Conduct quality inspections during RCC, finishing, waterproofing, and MEP works.
- Ensure timely rectification of quality issues.
Cost & Billing Management
- Verify work measurements and contractor bills.
- Monitor project costs and assist in budget control.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for timely availability of materials.
- Track material consumption and minimize wastage.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
