The Java Engineering Lead is a senior management-level position responsible for the strategic design, hands-on development, and successful delivery of a next-generation, cloud-native payment platform supporting the Markets Business. This role blends deep technical proficiency in Java and React with solid people leadership, requiring a hands-on engineering manager who can both write production-quality code and develop high-performing global engineering teams. Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic design and hands-on development of a cloud-native cash management platform, ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient solutions.
Manage multiple engineering teams across global locations, conducting personnel duties including performance evaluations, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions.
Coach, mentor, and develop engineers to drive technical excellence and foster a collaborative, results-oriented team culture.
Provide strategic influence over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring outcomes and end results.
Integrate deep knowledge of Java application development within the broader technology function to achieve established organizational goals.
Define and enforce engineering standards and essential procedures, contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices.
