Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Safety Engineer to ensure a safe working environment at the civil construction project. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety procedures, conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor health and safety procedures at the construction site.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure workers, contractors, and subcontractors follow safety rules and procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs.
- Monitor the proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection records, and incident documentation.
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take corrective actions.
- Monitor work permits and safety requirements for high-risk activities.
- Ensure proper barricading,
signage, access, housekeeping, and emergency arrangements.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Coordinate with project management and site teams to improve safety performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
Requirements
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Safety Engineering, or relevant qualification.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction site safety.
- NEBOSH / IOSH / ADIS / Safety Diploma certification will be an advantage.
- Positive knowledge of construction safety practices and risk assessment.
- Experience in conducting toolbox talks and safety training.
- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage safety requirements for workers and contractors.
