Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Desktop Support Engineer to join our growing team in the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day technical support for desktop systems, software, and hardware within the organization, ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Handle OS installation (Windows/Linux) and basic application software setup.
- Maintain and update inventory of hardware/software assets.
- Assist in managing user accounts and access permissions via Active Directory.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT personnel or vendors as required.
- Maintain logs of issues and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Ensure IT compliance with company policies and SOPs specific to pharmaceutical regulations.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure minimal downtime and service interruptions.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of desktop hardware and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11 operating systems.
- Understanding of antivirus, firewalls, and basic networking concepts.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma/Graduate in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Certification in hardware/networking (e.g., CompTIA A+, N+ or equivalent) is a plus.
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical workplace will be an added advantage.
