Job Responsibilities:
- Estimate costs for manufacturing orders based on in-depth analyses of technical requirements.
- Collect and analyze all manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment, and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.
- Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
- Update costs as necessary based on latest information and project scope changes.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and other project stakeholders.
Key Duties:
- Determine the scope of the order and review preliminary data and deliverables such as proposal specifications and drawings.
- Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
- Utilize subcontractor or vendor cost and proposal data to support estimates.
- Evaluate and incorporate historical data from past orders into unit and man-hour figures.
- Develop cost estimates for an entire order and assist with contract handoff to Project Managers/Operations.
This role requires a meticulous individual with a solid understanding of project management and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Preferred candidate profile
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical/ industrial/ production/ any related branch)
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
