Purchase Executive – Packing Material
Reports To
Purchase Manager / Head
Key Responsibilities
- Procure primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials as per production requirements.
- Float RFQs (Requests for Quotation), compare quotations, and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs).
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, QA, QC, and Finance departments to ensure material availability.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up for on-time supplies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and identify current suppliers.
- Ensure procurement complies with GMP, GDP, and company quality standards.
- Coordinate vendor qualification and documentation with the Quality Assurance department.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, price comparisons, and supplier documentation.
- Track inventory levels to avoid shortages and excess stock.
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and alternate vendor development.
- Support audits by providing procurement-related documentation.
- Prepare procurement reports, purchase analysis, and MIS reports.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Science, Pharmacy, or Engineering.
- Diploma or MBA in Supply Chain/Materials Management is preferred.
Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, preferably handling packaging materials.
- Experience with ERP systems such as MARG, or similar procurement software is desirable.
