Job Summary

Shail Vac Engineers is looking for an experienced Proposal & Estimation Manager to lead the preparation of

techno-commercial proposals and cost estimations for vacuum systems and engineering projects. The ideal

candidate should possess robust technical knowledge, commercial understanding, and leadership skills to ensure

timely, accurate, and competitive quotations while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Proposal & Estimation department and manage the complete proposal lifecycle.

Review customer enquiries, RFQs, technical specifications, and tender documents.

Prepare accurate techno-commercial offers and detailed cost estimates.

Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Production, Projects, and Sales teams for technical and commercial inputs.

Evaluate project scope, identify risks, and prepare cost optimization strategies.

Conduct vendor costing, subcontractor evaluations, and price negotiations.





Ensure proposals comply with customer requirements and company standards.

Monitor quotation timelines and ensure timely submission of proposals.

Maintain estimation databases, costing records, and standard pricing sheets.

Support the sales team during technical discussions, bid clarifications, and customer meetings.

Lead value engineering initiatives to improve competitiveness and profitability.

Mentor and develop the Proposal & Estimation team.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of industrial equipment costing and estimation.

Expertise in techno-commercial proposal preparation.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs;, GA drawings, and technical specifications.

Excellent analytical and cost analysis skills.

Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.

Leadership and team management capabilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and MS Office.
