Role
We’re looking for a Textile Design Intern to work closely with the design team on developing prints, embroidery and surface ornamentation for upcoming collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop print, motif and surface-design concepts for seasonal collections.
- Assist with embroidery development, including motifs, placements and layouts.
- Create mood boards, colour stories and textile design references.
- Develop hand-drawn and digital motifs suitable for linen garments.
- Assist in adapting artwork for different garment silhouettes and placements.
- Coordinate with the design team on sampling and execution of prints and embroidery.
- Assist with creating CADs, artwork and presentation sheets.
- Maintain organised records of textile designs, samples and references.
- Visit markets, exhibitions, suppliers and craft sources when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Student or graduate in Textile Design, Fashion Design or a related field.
- Robust understanding of prints, motifs, colours and surface ornamentation.
- Good drawing and visual research skills.
- knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Interest in textiles, crafts and contemporary fashion.
- Ability to translate ideas into commercially relevant designs.
- Attention to detail and willingness to work hands-on with samples.
