Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Head Footwear Merchandiser to lead the merchandising function and manage the complete order lifecycle from product development to final shipment. The candidate should have strong expertise in footwear merchandising, customer management, costing, sourcing, production coordination, and export documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the merchandising team to achieve business targets.

Handle key international buyers and develop long-term business relationships.

Manage the complete order process from inquiry, costing, sampling, order confirmation, production, and shipment.

Coordinate with Design, Development, Sourcing, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams.

Prepare product costing and negotiate pricing with buyers.

Monitor order status and ensure on-time delivery.

Source materials and develop new vendors for cost optimization.

Review T&A; (Time & Action) plans and ensure milestone adherence.

Resolve production, quality, and delivery issues proactively.

Conduct buyer meetings and factory visits.





Analyze market trends and recommend current product opportunities.

Prepare merchandising MIS reports and present business updates to management.

Ensure compliance with buyer standards and company policies.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of footwear manufacturing and export merchandising.

Expertise in costing, sourcing, sampling, and production planning.

Excellent negotiation and buyer relationship management skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and merchandising software.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict delivery timelines.

Qualification

Graduate/Postgraduate in Fashion, Leather Technology, Business, or a related field.

FDDI/NIFT qualification will be preferred.
