Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

· Track daily receipt and consumption of construction materials like cement, steel, civil materials.

· Update stock records in software or ledgers on time.

· Conduct weekly and monthly physical stock counts.

· Match actual stock with book stock to find differences.

Site Operations and Logistics

· Inspect incoming materials for proper quantity and quality.

· Reject damaged or substandard items before acceptance.

· Issue materials to contractors and workers based on approved indents.

· Supervise loading and unloading at the site storage yard.

Safety and Record Keeping

· Secure the storage area to prevent theft, damage, or weather decay.

· Maintain proper stacking and storage of sensitive items like cement, steel etc.

· File all Delivery Challans (DCs), Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), and gate passes safely.

· Share regular stock consumption reports with the project manager and accounts team.

Technical & Domain Skills

· Construction Material Knowledge: Identify specific grades of steel (e.g., TMT 500D),



cement types (OPC/PPC), plumbing materials etc.

· Storage & Material Handling: Know correct stacking methods to prevent cement dampening, steel rusting and other materials wastage.

· ERP & Software Literacy: Practice operating inventory modules in software like Tally Prime, ERP or any builders ERP softwares.

· Documentation & Auditing: Create accurate Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), gate passes, and material rejection memos.

Core Management Skills

· Math & Record-Keeping: Keep accurate physical-versus-book stock reconciliations to spot discrepancies early.

· Vendor & Logistics Coordination: Manage incoming supply schedules with local Head office and as per Purchase Orders.

· Contractor Management: Verify material issue requests against approved structural indents to stop over-allocation.

· Security & Vigilance: Implement strict gate controls and physical security to minimise wastage and stop site theft.
