Basic Qualifications for a PRT
- School Level: Class 12 (Senior Secondary) exam pass with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
- Teacher Training: A 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), JBT, DIET, or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Some schools also accept a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- Eligibility Test: Passing CTET Paper 1 (or a State TET) is mandatory for government and many private school jobs.
- Language & Skills: Valuable communication skills and basic computer knowledge. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
Key Roles and Duties of a PRT
- Lesson Planning: Make simple, fun daily lessons for subjects like math, languages, and environmental science.
- Class Management: Keep students safe, active, and focused in a positive classroom setting.
- Student Assessment: Check homework, grade tests, and track each child's progress.
- Parent Communication: Meet with parents to share updates on how their child learns and behaves.
- Extra Activities: Help organize games, art, and school events to support total growth
