About the Role
The ideal candidate should be based in India while also having an established supplier portfolio in China. The person will be responsible for managing sourcing activities across both India and China ( and other countries ), including regular travel to China to develop supplier relationships and identify new sourcing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand and diversify our supplier base by identifying, onboarding, and developing new suppliers across India and China. This is the primary objective and the highest priority for the role.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers to increase sourcing capacity and reduce supplier concentration.
- Continuously identify new sourcing opportunities that improve product quality, speed to market, and commercial competitiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, and production capacity with suppliers.
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers based on quality, compliance, capability, cost, and delivery performance.
- Partner closely with Product Development and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth execution from development through production.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
