A Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory regulations, and supporting financial decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Handle month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and ledger scrutiny.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Prepare and file tax returns and statutory reports.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Monitor budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Supervise junior accounting staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com/M.Com).
- CA Inter / CMA (preferred but not mandatory).
- 4–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Robust knowledge of accounting software (Tally, ERP, SAP, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of Indian accounting standards and taxation laws.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
