Position Summary

The Production Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining

production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed safely, on time, and efficiently.

This role serves as the primary link between Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Production, and

Logistics to balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity while optimizing inventory

levels and production efficiency.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities

in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand,

inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.

• Create and release manufacturing work orders.

• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changes in demand, material

shortages, equipment downtime, or labor availability.

• Balance production workloads across departments to maximize efficiency and resource

utilization.





• Prioritize production based on customer commitments and business requirements.

Material Planning

• Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure raw materials and purchased components are

available to support production schedules.

• Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages before they impact production.

• Work closely with Warehouse and Material Handling teams to ensure materials are staged

and available for production.

• Recommend inventory improvements to reduce excess stock while preventing shortages.

Production Coordination

• Communicate production schedules and priorities with supervisors and department

leaders.

• Participate in daily production meetings to review schedule adherence and production

performance.

• Identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve production flow and reduce lead

times.
