Mission
- Develop and manage vehicle weight attributes-including kerb weight, gross vehicle weight (GVW), and axle loads-throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with design and packaging teams to monitor and control weight targets at both system and component levels.
- Collect and organize benchmark data for vehicle and system-level weights, along with relevant specifications, using standardized templates.
- Perform foundational data analyses such as footprint analysis, trend identification, and regression analysis to support weight target setting.
- Establish correlations between vehicle performance and weight, and apply these insights to define and refine weight targets.
- Facilitate weight review workshops with Centers of Excellence (CoEs)
to achieve consensus and formal sign-off on weight targets.
- Regularly release updated system weights, weight distribution data, and center of gravity (CoG) reports to CoE teams.
- Compile system-level CoG data and calculate overall vehicle CoG and Static Stability Factor (SSF).
- Estimate CoG based on vehicle architecture parameters and conduct sensitivity analyses to assess design impacts.
- Lead CFMEA (Concept Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and CVP (Concept Validation Plan) workshops with CoEs for new vehicle concepts.
- Identify relevant performance domains and associated DVPs (Design Verification Plans), and establish system-performance relationships.
- Assess mule vehicle requirements and evaluate risks associated with new design concepts.
- Support trade-off studies to balance weight, cost, and performance, enabling informed engineering decisions.
- Compile engineering targets across various performance doma
