Purpose of the Position

The Service Engineer, Propulsion Systems , is responsible for executing field service activities on Wärtsilä propulsion equipment globally. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, commissioning,



and retrofit activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities
- Execute maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, commissioning, and retrofit activities on propulsion systems and related equipment.
- Perform service work on controllable pitch propellers (CPP), shaft lines, reduction gearboxes, stern tube seals, bearings, hydraulic systems, thrusters, and propulsion control systems.
- Support vessel dry dockings, sea trials, newbuild commissioning, and emergency breakdown attendance.
- Diagnose technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all assigned work is completed in accordance with Wärtsilä procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Prepare timely and accurate service reports, technical findings, and recommendations.
