We are looking for a Naval Architect to join our shipbuilding team. The candidate will be involved in vessel design, stability and hydrostatic calculations, preparation and review of drawings, technical documentation, and providing engineering support during ship construction.
Freshers with a relevant degree and robust technical knowledge are encouraged to apply. Experienced candidates with shipbuilding or marine engineering experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and review of General Arrangement (GA) and structural drawings.
- Assist with hydrostatic, stability, trim and buoyancy calculations.
- Support vessel design and engineering activities.
- Review drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with structural, piping, mechanical and electrical teams.
- Provide technical support to the production and shipyard teams.
- Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Support inspections, construction activities, launching and sea trials.
- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable classification and statutory requirements.
- Identify technical issues and assist in developing practical solutions.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Naval Architecture / Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding / Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering or equivalent.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 0–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, shipyard, marine design or related fields are preferred.
- Candidates with practical/project experience in ship design or shipbuilding will have an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of naval architecture and shipbuilding.
- Understanding of ship stability, hydrostatics and marine structures.
- Ability to read engineering and shipbuilding drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- Knowledge of Maxsurf, NAPA, Rhino or other naval architecture software will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
