Role summary:

Code a large set of news items (print, web, radio, TV) about a European regional government, reading each item in its original language and tagging it against a defined codebook. This is detailed, manual analytical work ; accuracy and consistency matter more than speed.

Language requirement :
- Robust reading comprehension in Italian AND/OR German (certified proficiency preferred; native or near-native welcome)..
- Coding is done on the original-language text; comprehension of nuance and tone in the source language is critical.

Key responsibilities
- Read each news item and judge its relevance to the subject.
- Identify which people/entities are mentioned and assign a visibility level.
- Assign sentiment (positive / neutral / negative) per entity.




- Tag topics from a fixed codebook.
- Maintain consistency across a high volume of items and follow the coding rules exactly.

Required skills
- Certified or demonstrable Italian/German reading proficiency.
- Attention to detail and comfort with repetitive, structured analytical work.
- Comfort working in Excel / structured spreadsheets.
- Prior media analysis, content coding, or translation/linguistic experience preferred.

Nice to have
- Familiarity with media monitoring or sentiment/tagging work.
- Awareness of German/Italian regional or political context.
