Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create Programs (manual and software based) for CNC & VMC Machines to perform machining operations
- Interpret design blueprints, write and modify programs, and optimize cutting parameters to meet part specifications
- Use specialized software to define cutting paths, tool movements, speeds, and feeds
- Fine-tune parameters like cutting speed, feed rate, and coolant flow to optimize machining time and quality
- Set up CNC & VMC machines, including loading tooling and workpieces
- Run test cycles to verify programs and adjust machine settings
- Troubleshoot issues during machining, such as tool breakage or programming errors
- Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Implement current technologies and processes to enhance production efficiency
- Study and write process sequences for machining drawings
- Collaborate with R&D; and study NPD drawings to ensure manufacturability and ease of production
- Maintain records of machine operations, program versions, and maintenance activities
- Knowledge of precision CNC & VMC machinery (DMG MORI) and machining practices
- Experience with Fanuc and Siemens panels is desirable
- Familiarity with Mazak (CNC) and DMG Mori (VMC) machines is a plus
- Knowledgeable on various precision CNC & VMC machinery (DMG MORI) and machining practices, the properties of materials, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling
- Will be responsible for keeping records of machine operations, program versions, and maintenance activities
- Train new operators on CNC machine operation and programming software
- Adhere to safety protocols when working with CNC machines and tools
- Maintain OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) sheets
- Provide Feedback on new projects
