Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Logistics will be responsible for managing end-to-end plant logistics operations, ensuring smooth movement of incoming and outgoing materials, inventory coordination, transportation planning, gate operations, warehouse coordination, and timely dispatches. The role requires close coordination with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Planning, Finance, and Transporters to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations while maintaining statutory compliance, cost efficiency, and process discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inward Logistics
- Plan and monitor timely receipt of raw materials, consumables, machinery, and other purchased items.
- Coordinate with Purchase Department and transporters for incoming shipments.
- Ensure timely unloading of materials.
- Monitor Gate Inward process and documentation.
- Coordinate with Stores and Quality teams for material inspection and acceptance.
- Track pending deliveries and follow up with vendors.

2. Outward Logistics
- Plan daily dispatch schedules based on Sales and Production requirements.




- Coordinate vehicle placement and loading activities.
- Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods.
- Verify dispatch documents including:
- Delivery Challans
- Tax Invoices
- E-Way Bills
- Packing Lists
- Transport Documents
- Ensure protected loading practices.

3. Transportation Management
- Coordinate with transporters for vehicle availability.
- Negotiate freight rates whenever required.
- Optimize transportation costs.
- Track vehicles until delivery.
- Resolve transportation delays and transit issues.
- Maintain transporter performance records.

4. Gate Management
- Ensure strict compliance with Gate Inward and Gate Outward procedures.
- Verify all incoming and outgoing documentation.
- Ensure no unauthorized material movement.
- Monitor security compliance.
- Coordinate with Security Department.

5. Warehouse & Stores Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores for material availability.
- Ensure FIFO
