About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Real-time Data Engineer to lead the architecture and development of a customer-facing analytics engine. The role involves transforming millions of daily events into high-performance, actionable insights while building a robust Semantic Layer that provides a single source of truth across dashboards, reports, and APIs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and scale low-latency analytics systems for high-concurrency SaaS users
Build real-time ingestion pipelines using PostgreSQL, Kafka/Kinesis, and Apache Pinot
Develop semantic models using Cube.js for complex sales metrics
Optimize Pinot tables, indexing strategies, and Cube pre-aggregations
Build REST/GraphQL APIs and collaborate with frontend teams
Implement multi-tenant security and data isolation
Work with CDC,
Debezium, Kafka, and/or Flink
Develop scalable backend services using Node.js or Python
Translate complex business requirements into efficient SQL and data models
Technical Requirements
3+ years of production experience with Apache Pinot or similar OLAP technologies
Strong hands-on experience with Cube.js, pre-aggregations, and security contexts
Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL and analytical query optimization
Experience with real-time data streaming and ingestion
Strong SQL and backend development skills
Experience with multi-tenant analytics architectures
Bonus: CRM/Sales Tech analytics experience, open-source contributions, Terraform, or Kubernetes experience.
