Job Description:

1. Conduct comprehensive Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analyses and prepare FTO clearance reports for APIs and related processes.
2. Evaluate patents and develop effective non-infringement strategies for lucrative patents.
3. Manage the complete patent lifecycle, including patentability assessment, drafting, filing, prosecution, grant, and maintenance.
4. Conduct comprehensive patent/non-patent literature, and regulatory searches for APIs and related compounds.
5. Provide timely and technically sound responses to customer and business queries related to Intellectual Property.
6. Develop and execute advanced patent search strategies using various global IP databases and analytical tools.
7. Lead, mentor, and develop the IPR team, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of IP assessments.
8. Collaborate closely with R&D; and cross-functional teams to evaluate Key Starting Materials (KSMs), intermediates, and synthetic processes from an IP perspective.
9. Guide R&D; teams in designing and developing non-infringing and IP-compliant synthetic routes for APIs.

Assess competitor patents, patent landscapes, and emerging IP risks to support product selection and development strategies.
11. Maintain strong working knowledge of patent laws, regulations, and practices across the US, India, Europe, and other key global markets.
12. Review notice letters, manage document production, discovery process and prepare essential materials for depositions to support patent litigation.

Key Skills
- Strong expertise in API patent analysis, FTO, patentability, and non-infringement strategies.
- Sound understanding of organic chemistry, API process development, and synthetic routes.
- Proficiency in global patent databases, patent searching, and landscape analysis.
- Robust knowledge of US, Indian, European, and international patent laws and practices.
- Excellent analytical, technical writing, communication, stakeholder-management, and team-leadership skills.
