Key areas include Windows/Linux, TCP/IP, Active Directory, Virtualization, cloud platform AWS, scripting (PowerShell/Python), ITIL, and monitoring tools.

Core Technical Skills required:

Primary Focus:
- AWS administration (their primary cloud environment)
- Microsoft systems administration (Windows Server, AD, Group Policy, DHCP/DNS)
- Windows Server administration (AD, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS)
- Linux basics or administration (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS)
- Strong System and Server Administration skills
- Server hardware troubleshooting
- Storage systems: NAS, SAN
- Robust Virtualization skills (VMWare Hyper-V)
- Co-ordinate with teams to plan build new environments like Dev, QA, Test, prod
- M365 admin (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune)
- Cloud Administration skills (Azure AWS) + any certification
- AWS administration
- IAM, IAM Identity Center (formerly AWS SSO), multiple AWS account creation and manage, amazon EC2, AWS backup, AWS resource tags, VPC (must be experienced on VPC peering, transit gateway, VPN),



certificate manager, Amazon workspace.
- Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), onboard and create users, groups and policies in azure ad, create enterprise applications in Entra ID and integrate with applications like amazon Cognito (IDP), Jenkins, web applications, etc.
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins

Secondary Focus:
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and OpenShift
- IAC - AWS service provisioning using terraform.
- Monitoring tools:
- Logic Monitor
- NAC -- infrastructure monitoring tool used to monitor AWS services (EC2, EKS, ECSs, etc.) azure services (azure VM)
- Understanding SLAs, incident severity, root cause analysis
