About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Firewall & Network Security Engineer to manage, configure, secure, and troubleshoot our network infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have robust hands-on experience with pfSense or OPNsense, network security, firewall policies, VPNs, VLANs, routing, NAT, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
You will work closely with our infrastructure/DevOps team to maintain a secure and reliable network setting and help us improve our overall network security architecture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Firewall Management
Configure and manage pfSense / OPNsense firewalls.
Create and maintain firewall rules and security policies.
Configure:
NAT
Port Forwarding
Outbound NAT
Aliases
Traffic Rules
Schedules
Gateway policies
Review and optimize existing firewall rules.
Troubleshoot firewall connectivity and security issues.
Maintain secure firewall configurations and backups.
2. Network Security
Design and implement secure network architecture.
Configure network segmentation using VLANs.
Implement appropriate security controls between:
LAN
Server Network
Management Network
Guest Network
RDP/VDI Network
Development Network
Identify and mitigate network security risks.
Follow least-privilege principles when designing firewall rules.
