Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Principal Cyber Security Architect & Advisory Lead
to drive cyber risk assessments, architecture reviews, and Essential Eight uplift initiatives for Bendigo Bank. Acting as a strategic advisor, you will define compensating controls, write executive decision papers, provide go/no-go recommendations, and interface with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Security & Risk Advisory:
Conduct architecture reviews and technology risk assessments across Cloud, Identity, Network, Data, Endpoint, and AppSec domains.
- Compliance & Remediation:
Drive ACSC Essential Eight uplift projects, audit remediation, and define robust compensating controls.
- Governance & Escalations:




Draft high-impact decision papers, perform options analysis, manage project escalations, and provide executive go/no-go recommendations.
- Engineering Guidance:
Advise engineering teams on secure design while managing resource estimation and forecasting for unplanned/KTLO initiatives.

Key Requirements
- 11+ years
in Cyber Security Architecture, Risk Assessment, and Technical Security Consulting.
- Domain Mandate:
Deep expertise in the
BFSI / Banking sector
(familiarity with APRA CPS 234 / ACSC Essential Eight is strongly preferred).
- Solid domain breadth: Zero Trust, Enterprise Security Architecture, Cloud, Identity, and AppSec.
- Proven ability to engage with executive stakeholders and simplify complex technical risk decisions.
- Ability to work AEST-aligned shift hours (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM IST).
