Role Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Behavioural Counsellor to support the emotional, social and behavioural wellbeing of students and contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to students addressing behavioural, emotional and social concerns.
- Identify behavioural and emotional challenges through observation, assessments and interaction with students.
- Develop and implement appropriate behaviour intervention and support plans.
- Work closely with teachers, coordinators and school leadership to address student concerns.
- Partner with parents/guardians to provide guidance and develop consistent support strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential counselling records and student progress reports.
- Support students with social-emotional learning, self-regulation,
conflict resolution and positive behaviour.
- Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for students, teachers and parents on relevant behavioural and wellbeing topics.
- Identify cases requiring specialised intervention and coordinate referrals to external professionals when appropriate.
- Contribute to the school's safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing initiatives.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Applied Psychology or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an international/IB school workplace.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent behaviour, counselling approaches and social-emotional development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
- Strong professional ethics, confidentiality and sensitivity while working with students and families.
