Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloguing, circulation, and inventory.
- Maintain digital and physical library records using library management software.
- Assist students and teachers in locating and using library resources effectively.
- Develop and implement reading programs, book clubs, and library activities to promote reading habits.
- Organize new book acquisitions, subscriptions, and resource updates.
- Ensure proper maintenance of library infrastructure, books, and digital resources.
- Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum-based reading and research projects.
- Train students on information literacy, research techniques, and proper referencing.
- Maintain a quiet, orderly, and conducive environment for learning.
- Prepare reports on library usage, book stock, and resource requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science.
- Knowledge of digital library systems and cataloguing techniques.
- Experience in a school or educational institution is preferred.
