Key Responsibilities:
- Support simulation activities throughout the project lifecycle, from understanding customer requirements and gathering input data to delivering results in accordance with company standards.
- Develop and validate 1D engine performance models using GT-Power, incorporating gas dynamics and thermodynamic principles.
- Design, analyze, and optimize engine air handling systems, including turbochargers, EGR systems, intake/exhaust manifolds, and after-treatment systems.
- Build and maintain 0D mathematical models of diesel and gas engines and their subsystems using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Perform model calibration, validation, and correlation using simulation and test data.
- Analyze engine test results, assess data quality, identify trends, and provide technical recommendations.
- Prepare simulation reports, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and project progress.
- Collaborate with design, testing, and product development teams to support engine performance improvement and system optimization.
- Provide weekly updates on simulation, calibration, and testing activities, and recommend modifications to test plans based on analysis findings.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-6 years of experience in Engine Performance Simulation, Engine Development, CAE, or related engineering functions.
- Solid expertise in 1D engine simulation and model development using GT-Power.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB and Simulink for 0D model development, calibration, and system analysis.
- Good understanding of IC engine fundamentals, gas dynamics, thermodynamics, combustion, and air handling systems.
- Experience in turbocharger matching, EGR systems, intake/exhaust system design, and after-treatment technologies.
- Ability to analyze engine test data and correlate simulation results with experimental findings
