Commitment: Full time, long-term. Equity-first with co-inventor IP credit.
About us
We're building the RADAX™ Generator — a patent-pending modular hybrid axial-radial flux permanent-magnet direct-drive architecture for wind turbines. Our business is B2B IP licensing to wind turbine OEMs worldwide, with later expansion into hydro generation and hybrid-vehicle alternators. We're at working-prototype design stage, moving from simulation toward a physical prototype.
The role
You will own and lead the entire technical side of the company — architecture, electromagnetic and mechanical design, simulation, prototyping, and the technical roadmap through to OEM validation. This is the single most senior engineering seat in the company. You set technical direction; you are not asked to carry any commercial, fundraising,
or business-development load — that stays with the founding/commercial team. Your job is to make the machine real and make it best-in-class.
You'll be responsible for
- Owning the full generator design: electromagnetic (PM machine) design plus the mechanical/structural design of a direct-drive architecture.
- Leading FEA/simulation work (ANSYS Maxwell / Motor-CAD) and resolving hard multi-physics problems — including electromagnetic cross-coupling and BEMF behaviour in a combined axial-radial topology.
- Driving the path from TRL 5 toward a validated prototype (TRL 7).
- Building and leading a small engineering team over time.
- Being a named co-inventor and technical authority in OEM and investor conversations.
Must-haves
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in both electrical machine design (permanent-magnet synchronous generators; axial and/or radial flux) and mechanical/structural engineering of rotating machines.
- Hands-on
