Should Cost Engineer with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and 6+ years of experience in EV 2-wheeler products. The candidate must be able to build detailed should-cost models for components such as suspension, frame, fenders, and similar mechanical items.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop bottom-up should-cost models for mechanical components including suspension, frame/chassis, fenders, brackets, etc.
- Analyse manufacturing processes: welding, machining, stamping, injection molding, casting, forging and machine.
- Conduct DFM/DFA and VA/VE activities.
- Support supplier negotiations using cost models.
- Perform tear-downs and benchmarking studies.
- Maintain cost databases, templates and rate cards.
- Support NPI with early cost visibility.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in should costing for EV 2-wheelers or similar.
- Robust knowledge of metal and plastic manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on with CAD for measurement.
- Expertise in Excel and cost modeling.
- Experience with supplier discussions and cost validation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Indian 2-wheeler supply chain.
- Knowledge of tooling estimation.
- Exposure to APQP/PPAP.
- Power BI or dashboard skills
