Vice President Credit Risk (Venture Debt & Startup Financing)

- Job Summary:
The Vice President Credit Risk will be responsible for evaluating, underwriting, and managing credit risk across the Venture Debt and Startup Financing portfolio. The role involves end-to-end credit evaluation from proposal to sanction, partnering closely with business teams, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting prudent lending decisions for venture-backed startups and high-growth companies by assessing business viability, funding history, cash burn, unit economics, sponsor strength, and repayment capacity, while contributing to the overall credit risk framework.
- Job Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive credit appraisal and risk assessment of
venture-backed startups, growth-stage companies, and venture debt opportunities.
2. Evaluate venture debt, structured debt, growth capital, acquisition financing,



and other bespoke lending proposals.
3. Assess borrower business models, revenue visibility, scalability, unit economics, cash burn, runway, and path to profitability.
4. Analyze historical and projected financial statements, cash flow

forecasts, business plans, and operating metrics.
5. Evaluate capital structure, fundraising history, investor profile,

promoter quality, and sponsor support.
6. Assess repayment capacity based on projected cash flows,

fundraising plans, and business sustainability.
7. Conduct detailed financial modelling and scenario analysis to

evaluate downside risks and recovery prospects.
8. Review security structures, covenant packages, collateral

arrangements, guarantees, and other risk mitigants.
9. Identify key credit risks, strengths, weaknesses, and mitigating

factors associated with lending proposals.
10.Prepare detailed credit appraisal notes and recommendations for

sanctioning auth
