Job Description CNC Machining Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a CNC Machining skilled with knowledge of machining fundamentals, CNC programming, cutting parameter calculations, machine operations, and process planning. The candidate should be able to understand engineering drawings and develop machining processes from raw material to finished components.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
- Plan the machining process from raw material to finished component.
- Select appropriate machining processes such as turning, facing, grooving, threading, drilling, boring, and milling.
- Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and work holding methods.
- Calculate and set machining parameters such as:
- Cutting Speed (Vc)
- Spindle Speed (RPM)
- Feed / Feed Rate
- Feed per Revolution
- Depth of Cut (DOC)
- Develop and understand basic CNC programs using G-codes and M-codes.
- Understand CNC turning programming concepts including G96, G97, G00, G01, G02, G03, and other basic codes.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, and tool wear offsets.
- Identify machining problems such as tool wear, vibration, poor surface finish, dimensional variation, and tool breakage.
- Optimize cutting parameters to improve productivity, tool life, and component quality.
- Perform in-process inspection using measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, and height gauge.
