Job Description
Sumo India are looking for Lead Technical Designer to join our growing team of designers focused on building robust and cohesive levels and gameplay experiences for a variety of multi-platform titles, in collaboration with our UK based teams.

As a Lead Technical Designer in the World discipline, you will bridge the gap between Level Design and Engineering. Through application of a strong knowledge of both design theory and technical know-how, you’ll empower other designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently, ensuring that gameplay systems, content, tools and workflows are effective, scalable, and technically sound.

Job Requirements
Essential
- Understanding of Technical Design theory, standards and best practices in the creation of robust systems and gameplay objects, level streaming and scripting ,appropriate to seniority.
- Demonstrable experience in some form of scripting (visual/text based), or programming languages.
- Experience working with industry‑standard game engines and design tools.




- Fluency in English with excellent communication and feedback skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable
- Professional experience in Game Development, in the field of Technical Design.
- Experience collaborating with outsourced or external development teams in multiple time-zones.
- A background spanning varying genres such as open world, action-adventure, platforming and/or racing titles.
- Familiarity with performance, memory, and technical constraints in world building.
- Knowledge or experience of working with object-oriented programming / languages such as C++.

- Implement gameplay content, level systems and LD tools, using visual or text-based scripting.
- Support Level Designers with technical problem-solving and workflow optimisation.
