Purpose: To ensure reliable functioning, calibration, and maintenance of all process instrumentation and control systems in the plant for supporting uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend instrumentation and control system breakdowns and restore equipment in minimum time.
- Diagnose faults in PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, panel wiring, and communication networks.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for repetitive issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform predictive maintenance activities. Update PM records, checklists, and calibration certificates.
- Ensure instrumentation work complies with plant safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Maintain optimum stock levels for critical spares.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation (Calibration reports, Loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument index, preventive maintenance checklists etc.) for internal & external audits.
- Coordinate with vendors for AMC services,
calibration support, and repairs.
- Assist in plant modifications, instrumentation upgrades, and improvement projects.
Competencies:
- Strong troubleshooting skills for field instruments and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with calibration tools and diagnostic software.
- Understanding of P&IDs;, control loop diagrams, and instrument wiring.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to hazardous-area practices.
- Good communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a quick-paced chemical production environment.
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (Instrumentation or Electrical)
Nature of Experience:
- 4 to 8 years of experience in Instrumentation Maintenance within chemical / pharma / specialty chemical plants.
