Senior Test Automation Engineer — Tricentis Tosca (Mobile & Web)
Role summary
Hands-on senior engineer to stand up Tosca from scratch and start automating our web and mobile applications. Own the initial setup — workspace, repository, mobile device connectivity, execution infrastructure — then build the module library and regression suite the team scales from.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure Tosca Commander, common repository, workspaces, and licensing/user model
- Set up Tosca Mobile Engine 3.0 and configure device connectivity for iOS and Android (physical devices, emulators, and simulators)
- Establish naming conventions, folder structure, and reusable module standards from day one
- Scan and build module libraries for responsive web (Chrome, Safari, Edge) and native/hybrid mobile apps
- Author test cases using Test Case Design and Test Data Management; parameterize for cross-browser and cross-device runs
- Configure and manage Distributed Execution agents for scheduled and on-demand runs
- Deliver an initial smoke and regression suite within the first [60–90] days
- Debug and stabilize flaky tests — especially mobile sync, gestures, and dynamic locators
- Use SQL and API calls (REST) for test data setup, teardown, and backend validation
- Document setup and standards; coach other QA engineers as the practice grows
- Report execution results, coverage, and defects to QA and delivery leads
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in test automation, with 3+ years hands-on Tosca including at least one greenfield implementation
- Demonstrated Tosca mobile automation experience on both iOS and Android via Tosca Mobile Engine
- Strong web module scanning, including energetic controls, iframes, shadow DOM, and XScan steering parameters
- Ability to configure Tosca infrastructure independently — not just author tests in an existing framework
- Solid SQL and API testing (REST/SOAP)
- Tricentis AS1/AS2 certification
- Works independently in an Agile delivery team
