Role Description
The Freelance YouTube Video Editor is a remote, contract role focused on editing and producing engaging video content for YouTube. Day-to-day work includes organizing raw footage, editing videos for clarity and impact, adding motion graphics and text overlays, and optimizing pacing to improve viewer retention.



The editor will collaborate with founders and content leads to interpret creative briefs, refine storylines, and ensure videos align with brand guidelines and channel strategy. Responsibilities also include basic audio cleanup, color correction, exporting in appropriate formats, and delivering versions optimized for thumbnails, shorts, and other social platforms. The role may involve occasional feedback sessions, iteration based on performance metrics, and suggesting creative improvements to enhance overall content quality.

Qualifications
- Strong video editing skills using industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and familiarity with YouTube best practices.
- Experience with motion graphics, simple animation, and text overlays using tools such as After Effects or comparable software.
- Capability in audio editing, including noise reduction, leveling, and syncing, as well as basic color correction and grading.
