Hiring: Contracts Manager Construction / EPC

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in EPC/Construction projects to manage the complete contract lifecycle, including tendering, contract administration, subcontract management, claims, variations, and commercial risk management. The ideal candidate should possess excellent contractual knowledge, negotiation skills, and experience handling FIDIC, item-rate, and lump-sum contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract & Tendering
- Review tender documents, ITBs, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and commercial conditions.
- Identify contractual, commercial, and technical risks before bid submission.
- Prepare contract risk assessment reports for management review.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and prepare technical and commercial clarifications.
- Support techno-commercial negotiations with clients and stakeholders.
- Review contract terms and recommend risk mitigation measures.
Post-Award Contract Management
- Administer contracts from award through project completion.
- Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, payment terms, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project timelines.
- Coordinate with project, procurement, finance, planning, and engineering teams.
- Maintain complete contract documentation and correspondence.
- Manage FIDIC, Item Rate, EPC, and Lump Sum Turnkey contracts.
Subcontract & Procurement Contracts
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements.
- Evaluate commercial proposals from vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensure subcontract terms align with the main contract.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and contractual compliance.
Claims & Variation Management
- Prepare and evaluate variation orders arising from scope changes.
- Maintain records supporting claims for Extension of Time (EOT) and additional costs.
- Develop contractual correspondence related to delays, disruptions, and claims.
- Coordinate with project teams to compile supporting documentation.
- Negotiate settlement of claims with clients and subcontractors.
Contract Risk & Dispute Resolution
- Identify contractual risks throughout project execution.
- Prepare contractual notices and maintain statutory communications.
- Resolve contractual issues through negotiation before arbitration or litigation.
- Support legal teams by providing contractual documentation and technical inputs when required.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree or Quantity Surveying qualification is an added advantage).
- 8 to 12 years of experience in Contracts Management within Construction, Infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract, EPC Contracts, Item Rate Contracts, and Lump Sum Contracts.
- Experience in contract drafting, commercial negotiations, claims, and variation management.
- Good understanding of BOQs, project scheduling, billing, procurement, and project execution.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; exposure to Primavera P6/MS Project is preferred.
