Job Summary

Programmers.IO is currently looking to hire Senior SQL Server Postgres DBA on 8-10+ years of strong SQL Server DBA experience; min 6+ years of hands-on working experience with PostgreSQL; proven expertise in performance tuning, HA/DR, and production system management; min 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or other managed database platforms; exposure to MySQL / MariaDB and modern cloud-native databases; robust troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scripting skills. Remote, India location.

Key Responsibilities
- SQL Server Administration Production Operations: Manage end-to-end SQL Server DBA operations across development, test, and production environments; Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance; Lead performance tuning efforts including execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization; Implement and support HA/DR solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, replication, clustering, and log shipping; Manage backup, restore,



and disaster recovery with periodic DR validations; Troubleshoot production issues including blocking, deadlocks, IO bottlenecks, and performance degradation
- Multi-Cloud Managed Database Operations: Administration of databases on Azure SQL, Managed Instances, AWS RDS, and relevant GCP managed database services; Support high availability, scaling, failover, and backup strategies across cloud environments; Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity across cloud deployments; Work on hybrid database connectivity across on-prem and cloud environments
- Cross-Skilled Database Operations (SQL + PostgreSQL + Cloud DBs): Hands-on support and administration of PostgreSQL databases across environments; Work with PostgreSQL in both self-managed and cloud-managed platforms (RDS / Azure PostgreSQL / Aurora PostgreSQL); Exposure to MySQL / MariaDB environments and ability to support operational activitie
