A Transplant Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating all activities related to organ and tissue transplantation within the hospital. The role involves supporting patients and families through the evaluation, transplant, and post-transplant process, ensuring compliance with medical, legal, and ethical guidelines. The coordinator works closely with consultants, surgeons, nursing teams, organ donation organizations, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth and timely transplant services.
Required Skills Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree. Preferably certified in Transplant Coordination from a recognized authority. Strong knowledge of organ donation processes, transplant regulations, and documentation. Excellent communication and counselling skills for interacting with patients and families. Ability to coordinate with multiple teams (clinical non-clinical) effectively. Valuable understanding of hospital operations and medical terminology. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
