Job Summary

Senior Writer to cover US politics and news through well-researched reporting, analysis, and commentary. This is an editorial position, not an SEO content-writing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and write timely stories covering US politics and news.
- Produce news coverage, analysis, explainers, and commentary.
- Follow US political developments, identify strong story angles, and verify information using primary sources, public records, official statements, interviews, and credible reporting.
- Track major US news, identify stories relevant to the audience, and research the facts and context needed for accurate coverage.
- Select relevant, high-quality visuals for each story, including thumbnails, cover images, photographs, videos, and other supporting visual elements.
- Develop clear, well-supported arguments for analysis and commentary pieces.
- Work with editors to refine story angles, structure, clarity, and accuracy.
- Manage multiple assignments and meet editorial deadlines.




- Maintain the brands editorial voice and quality standards.
- Remain flexible during major political events and breaking news.
What You Will Need
- Strong professional experience writing about US politics, government, elections, public policy, or national news.
- A portfolio of published reporting, analysis, commentary, or current-affairs writing.
- A solid understanding of the US political system, institutions, parties, elections, and major policy debates.
- Excellent research, reporting, fact-checking, and analytical skills.
- The ability to distinguish verified facts, reported claims, analysis, and opinion.
- The ability to explain complex political developments clearly and accurately.
- Strong news judgment and the ability to identify meaningful angles.
- Clear, engaging writing with a strong command of grammar, structure, and tone.
