- Data Analysts are responsible for a range of data-related activities including provision of data extracts and data transformation solutions for the company. Using specialist tools, the role is responsible for building and the delivery of the solution.
- The Data Analyst is required to engage with stakeholders (both internal and external), so positive communication skills underpin everything we do. Due to the nature of working with Data, the role is required to follow specified processes
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to understand, clarify, and refine both functional and non-functional requirements for all assigned work
- Develop code and complete unit/integration tests to ensure delivery of high quality, fit-for-purpose solutions
- Investigate data issues as required, working with colleagues to understand causes and suggest fixes as quickly as possible, and, where necessary, participate in root cause analyses to identify practical long-term improvements
- Provide regular progress reports to Line Manager, Project Managers, and other key stakeholders
- Maintain effective documentation for all software developed and share expertise with colleagues to share knowledge across the whole team
- Provide cover for all BAU Data Solutions activities.
- Routinely review BAU processes to ensure they are required, current, and fit for purpose.
Risk Management:
- Champion a culture of strong internal control and risk management within the Data Solutions team
- Be aware of requirements for transmission of PAN and PII data in order to advise stakeholders of best practice
- Escalate any control deficiencies or risks noticed
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Comply with all regulatory procedures applicable to the role
- Report any information security incident, weakness, or malfunction
REQUIRED SKILLS EXPERIENCE:
Essential
- Strong RDMS, Oracle and/or ANSI SQL skills
- Experience with an industry-standard ETL tool e.g. SSIS, Talend Open Studio,
