n Yali makes modern Indian clothes built on Indian textile intelligence. Eight pieces form the core — among them a Wrap Coat numbered by edition, a Trouser cut high and straight, and a Saree that is woven, never printed. The label does not run sales. Unsold work is re-styled, re-storied, or archived. The shop sits inside The Registry — Centre for Design, a public space in Bengaluru with a year-round programme of exhibitions and talks.
n ### The work
n - Own the shop's numbers: daily targets, monthly closes, conversion, sell-through.
n - Build the client book. Yali sells by relationship. There are no season-end sales to lean on.
n - Lead two sales associates: rosters, standards, training on the floor.
n - Hold the floor to the label's standard — steaming, folding, light, the way the cloth is handed over.
n - Work the Centre's calendar. Exhibition openings and talks bring the room to the shop; the shop is ready for it.
n - Run the operations: point of sale, stock counts, reconciliation, dispatch.
n - Report what the floor knows — what sold, what stalled, what clients asked for that does not yet exist. This goes straight to design.
n ### Who this is for
n - Six to ten years in premium or luxury retail — fashion, lifestyle, or fine hospitality — with at least two running a floor or a team.
n - Fluent with numbers. Targets are stated, tracked, and met without theatre.
n - Able to learn cloth: fibre, region, count, loom width, why a fine count creases. Textile training is part of the job; retaining it is too.
n - Sells without urgency. The close is the fact, not the deadline.
n - Fluent English. Kannada and Hindi are assets on this floor.
n ### Terms




n ₹10–14 lakh per annum fixed, plus a performance incentive. Six-day retail week with a weekday off; weekends and festivals are working days. Start date: [to confirm].

n - The floor: receive clients, listen first, show second.
n - Learn the eight core pieces until each can be explained without notes — fibre, region, construction, and what the cloth does on a body.
n - Keep the client book current: sizes, preferences, follow-ups that arrive when promised.
n - Care for the stock: steaming, folding, counts, the fitting room, the till.
n - Work the Centre's openings and talks. The audience walks in already curious.
n ### Who this is for
n - One to four years on a premium retail floor — or none. Disposition outweighs the CV; the training is provided.
n - Curious by default. The job is learning cloth and handing the learning on, plainly.
n - Warm, unhurried, exact.
