Owns the editorial vision, campaign strategy and quality bar for the organisation's public-facing content. Sets narrative direction, leads a multi-disciplinary content team, and is the final editorial authority on tone, accuracy and institutional appropriateness across every channel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Campaign strategy: define the core narrative and 'why now' logic for national campaigns; set 3–5 coherent content pillars and a differentiated platform strategy.
- Audience & messaging: segment audiences (such as rural and youth) and direct meaningfully distinct messaging for each.
- Content development: commission and shape long-form articles, social copy, taglines and short-film concepts; ensure they are researched, sourced and campaign-native.
- Editorial review: act as final reviewer — identify factual, editorial, tonal,
reputational and communication risks, and rewrite to keep urgency without amplifying panic.
- Editorial framework: own the fact-verification process, source hierarchy, sign-off chain and misinformation-response protocol.
SKILLS & ELIGIBILITY
- Minimum 7 years of experience
- Proven editorial leadership across written, social and video content.
- Sharp judgement on tone and constraints of official public communication.
- Robust original writing plus the instinct to spot the single most dangerous line in a draft.
- Ability to build proactive and reactive anti-misinformation strategy.
- Command of both English and Hindi communication contexts.
