The Application Engineer supports the implementation and maintenance of software applications that meet business needs. This role exists to help deliver reliable and well-tested software while gaining hands-on experience with modern tools and practices. The position works closely with senior engineers, product managers, and QA teams to learn best practices and contribute to high-quality solutions. This role provides solid growth opportunities in a collaborative engineering environment.
Essential Duties
- Write, test, and maintain code for software applications under guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in developing and enhancing front-end and/or back-end components.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
- Write basic unit and integration tests to support application reliability.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve bugs and support issues.
- Follow established coding standards, documentation practices, and processes.
- Collaborate with team members in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Learn and apply recent technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of IT experience in building front-end and/or back-end systems.
- Basic experience of Java.
- Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, NodeJS, Spring).
- Basic understanding of version control (Git) and Agile development.
- Exposure to relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
- Industry experience preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, write clean code, and work effectively in a team environment.
